Variable Low Speed Dispersers

Our capability is measured in terms of the range of tough jobs our dispersers can handle. We build them to give life-long, trouble-free operation in the most difficult of operations. Each unit delivers full-rated torque horsepower to the shaft throughout its entire speed range.

Designed to mix and disperse viscous products, the SCHOLD heavy duty variable speed dispersers will mix, compound, and disperse polyesters, epoxies, colors in pastes, adhesives, inks, rubber cement compounds, pre-mixes for roller milling operations, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, lacquers, wax dispersions, etc.

The dispersing action is the result of intense shear of the material caused by the force of the blade as it rotates in the container. As the blade rotates, the material is forced to flow through and around the blade. The resistance of material causes the high internal shear of the material against itself and the material against the blade and the container wall. Producing a mulling-kneading action, the blade action completely distributes the various ingredients of the formula and eliminates any pockets of dry material or agglomerates.

SCHOLD Dispersers are built with an air-overoil hydraulic lift to raise and lower the blade in the tub. The blade can be securely locked in a raised, lowered or any intermediate position.

The disperser can accommodate mixing tubs of various diameters, and incorporates an air-operated chain lock tub holder as standard equipment. The tub holder prevents the container from turning due to the high torque developed by the disperser.

The mechanical variable speed control permits an operator to control the operation closely for addition of ingredients, aeration control, multiple step operations, additions of solids, varying liquid levels, and changes in viscosity.

The tapered and polished agitator shaft is made from high-strength steel alloy. A carbon steel “Bow-Tie” blade is standard, but alternate blade and shaft styles and materials are available.

Other options include a tachometer and ampmeter for monitoring speed and power consumption, assuring optimum performanôe batch after batch; explosion-proof push-button stations and combination starters in NEMA 1 or explosion-proof enclosures, supplied either factory mounted or shipped separately for field installation at your convenience.

SCHOLD can supply a wide choice of mixing vessels to meet your precise specifications, as well as tank covers that will raise and lower with the disperser. Multi-vessel capability is one more option you may wish to consider. (Also available in stationary tank mounts.)

***WARNING SAFETY STATEMENT***
As in all machinery, it is imperative that proper safety procedures training and supervision should be maintained.

Under no circumstance should the machine be cleaned, wiped, maintained or tampered with while shafts are rotating or with electrical power connected.

Electrical hardware, connections, wires and floor mountings must be periodically checked and, if necessary, repaired.

Schold Research & Development, Inc.
A continuing and ongoing research and test program is carried out at teh Schold Research & Development Centers. We welcome your tests of our equipment at one of our Research Centers and, with special arrangements, test equipment can be made available for 'in-plant' testing.
