F-800 Shot Mill for deagglomerating, dispersing and milling

Shot Mill Model F-800

Highest productivity... lowest downtime...

Designed specifically for jobs where high thruput, medium production run profitability and fast changeover from one color or media to the next are essential!

Schold’s Model F-800 is the most versatile shot mill on the market today for medium run deagglomerating, dispersing and milling of inks, paints, dyestuffs, pharmaceuticals, and other fluids where frequent color or media changes are necessary.

Like its smaller capacity counterpart the F-600, the F-800 features our unique hydraulic-Iift mounted agitator assembly, pivoting dumping chamber and rotary screen.

The F-800 is a 10-gallon, sealed and pressurized, high-speed continuous media mill designed for handling batches from 100 to 1000 gal./day over a wide range of viscosities or thixotropy, moisture or air-sensitive material.

Several F-800’s can easily be placed in series for multipass submicron high-production applications.

Because of its many unique features, solvent losses and product drying on the filter screen are eliminated and higher thruput rates than open, ball, pebble and three-roll mills are easily achieved.

Cleanup, color or media changes — virtually without tools — can be made in less than an hour due to the unique hydraulic lift-mounted agitator assembly and dumping chamber design, thus assuring minimum downtime and even greater productivity!

These unique features make the F-800 the most versatile shot mill on the market today:

( 1) Heavy-duty millframe and motor drive assembly with explosion-proof motors standard.
2) Variable speed hand control.
3) Doublemechanicalsealsareequippedwith pressure gauge and regulator for pressurizing mill with plant air. In case of plant air failure, air check valve allows continuing production.
( 4) Seal/bearing housing automatically sets seal preload on assembly and allows easy access to seals and bearings. Seal replacement is fast and economical.
( 5) Pressurized seals, located downstream from rotating filter, eliminate need for complicated, expensive safety devices required by other mills. Seal damage is reduced, maintenance is easier and seal life is extended significantly. Seals are regulated to dis-charge pressure only, instead of mill chamber pressure regardless of what it is.
( 6) A rotating filter screen, mounted on and rotating with the shaft, is a Schold patented exclusive! In the Schold design, the rotating filter is located below the sealed discharge
area of the mill chamber, completely submerged in the liquid! Air entrapment and product drying are eliminated. Filter screen blinding is eliminated, because the centrifugal force created by the mill agitation and the centrifugal action of the vertical bars force the grinding media away from the filter screen.
7) Progressive agitator spacing with keyed discs and spacers allows easy interchange. Hardened stain¬less alloy agitator discs provide fan pattern to grind¬ing media and increase milling efficiency.
8) Jacketed grinding chamber provides spiral flow for maximum cooling and heating.
9) Grinding media ranges from .50mm to 3.00mm steel orceramic bailsorgiass beads, depending uponthe particular product being processed, its viscosity and the desired thruput rate.
10) Quick-disconnect bottom hatch with patented pro¬duct inlet check valve.

***WARNING SAFETY STATEMENT***
As in all machinery, it is imperative that proper safety procedures training and supervision should be maintained.

Under no circumstance should the machine be cleaned, wiped, maintained or tampered with while shafts are rotating or with electrical power connected.

Electrical hardware, connections, wires and floor mountings must be periodically checked and, if necessary, repaired.
