SCHOLD Dual Drive, Dual Motor, VHLS Coaxial Dispersers are designed for mixing and dispersing products with a wide range of high viscosities in excess of 1,000,000 C.P.S. Inks, caulks, flush pigments, paints, dyestuffs, epoxies, texturizing compounds, putties, adhesives and resins are typical of the wide product range capability. Yet, this disperser design allows you to handle those jobs normally requiring a high-speed disperser, too. And, in many cases, it replaces more expensive sigma blade mixers, cone/worm mixers and ribbon blenders.
SCHOLD Dual Drive Coaxial Dispersers are actually 2 machines in 1! That’s because they combine a slow-speed, high-torque blade.. .closely matched to the inner diameter of the mixing vessel.. .with a high-speed, high-shear blade in a “coaxial” position. The nominal speed range of the slow-speed blade is 20 to 115 RPM. The range of the high-speed blade is 400 to 2000 RPM.
Two independently adjustable agitator shafts on a common axis work through a common vortex, making it ideal for dispersing high-viscosity materials. Dead spots, hot spots and side load damage to high-speed shafts and blades, normally experienced with twin-shaft machines, are eliminated.

Because of our dual drive, you have infinite adjustment of shaft or agitator RPM or FPM without compromising the power draw from one blade to the other Through constant monitoring of the maximum amperage draw on each motor, you can achieve the fastest dispersion possible from 1/3 to 1/2 the time normally required by other, conventional dispersion methods.
And even more important is your end product. The close spacing between the slow-speed blade, the vessel wall and bottom assures complete dispersion, free of any lumps normally left in the corners or on the vessel walls.
Further, the two blades can be engaged or disengaged at will, allowing the Dual Dnve Coaxial Disperser to be used as a slow-speed, high-torque mixer for dry ingredients with minimal dusting, or as a high-speed disperser alone.
One Dual Drive Coaxial Disperser size can be used with a wide range of vessel diameters, too up to 84”, simply by changing optional blades, and adjusting the adjustable tub holder (also optional) to center the mixing vessel.

How it Operates:
The slow-speed blade of the Dual Drive Coaxial Disperser is unique because it creates a triple vortex The opening in each slow-speed vane creates a separate vortex while rotating over the dynamic high-speed shear blade This condition insures a more uniform dispersion in less time.
As the product is forced to flow down each vortex created by the void in each vane, it is subjected to the intense shear created by the high-speed blade, resulting in very rapid dispersion. Fresh product is continually forcing the dispersed material away from the high-speed blade, thus assuring uniform dispersion without localized heat build-up, heling to control uniform batch temperatures. |
